Margaretville — As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, the community Interfaith Council has announced it will not be holding a Community Thanksgiving Dinner this year.
Council Secretary Richard Dykstra said this week that this year’s dinner was cancelled due to a number of reasons. “We are sorry that we had to make this decision. We believe that this will be a one-year hiatus, and hope to start planning earlier next year and incorporate additional people to help.”
Dykstra did note that The Catskill Mountain Christian Center is hosting a Thanksgiving diner on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. While they are happy to welcome new guests, they are asking that anyone who has not attended the dinner in the past call ahead to reserve a seat or seats so there is enough food for all. The phone there is 845.586.4848 and the e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org
Additionally, Delaware Opprotunities has scheduled a Thanksgiving Dinner to be served at all senior dining centers on Friday, Nov. 16 at 11L30 a.m. Small donations are requested for the meal. Reservations a day ahead of the meal are requested. For Margaretville they can be made by calling 845.586.4767. In Grand Gorge, the number is 607.588.6166 and in Delhi, 607.746.2250.
