Fleischmanns — The 2018 maple season is well underway in the region with some producers tapping in early December of last year. The age old tradition of tapping the maple trees begins in earnest now and has experienced an incredible resurgence in the area. Whether done with old fashioned metal taps and buckets or the new plastic taps to tubing to tanks, the sap will be running and the new maple syrup once known as liquid gold will be ready.
On Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25 Fleischmanns First, its seventh annual Maple Festival to celebrate the new season’s maple syrup production with a weekend full of activities and events inspired by and celebrating the tradition of turning maple sap into maple syrup!
