Margaretville — The Open Eye Theater’s 14th annual Harvest Brunch and Auction, famous for its gourmet home cooking and array of local products and artistry, is set to begin at noon on Sunday, Nov. 11, in the community room of the fire hall, next to the United Methodist Church on Church Street in Margaretville.
The public is invited to this scrumptious brunch of ham, turkey, and baked salmon, sauces, eggs and made-to-order pancakes with pure maple syrup, bacon, sausage, salads, quiches, casseroles, breakfast breads of all sorts, pies, cakes and other dessert specialties. Live musical entertainment at the all-you-can-eat feast features Andy Cahill performing popular and jazz favorites accompanied by Adam Ippolito on keyboard.
At 1:15 sharp, master auctioneer Chuck McIntosh, and his assistant Gail Lennstrom take the stage to begin the live auction of more than 60 local specialties and one-of-a-kind artisan items including hand woven throw pillows by Tabitha Gilmore- Barnes, a hand crocheted afghan by Darlene DeMaille, a hand knit poncho by Turid Murad, Huichol beaded artwork and jewelry, a signed, framed Barbara Alyn original whimsical painting (20” x 24”), 1973 Vintage Pepsi Glasses Collection series (includes Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and Bugs Bunny), Franklin Porcelain Collector Plates (1976 Country Scenes), a Vintage “Betty Boop” doll, gourmet baskets of chocolates and other local specialties, Bootlegger Bourbon, and a new, boxed Senseo POD coffee maker.
