Roxbury – Roxbury is serving up a healthy dose of holiday cheer, along with homemade soups and New York State wines as part of the Roxbury Soup & Sip event on Saturday, Dec. 22 on Main Street of the historic hamlet.
More than a dozen Roxbury businesses and organizations will serve up soups and sips from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., warming ticket holders as they stroll through town, admiring the holiday decorations on Main Street. At 7:00 p.m., strollers will head over to the Roxbury Arts Group for a Dessert Reception, vote for their favorite soup, and participate in a live auction for cool prizes.
All proceeds from this event will directly support the Roxbury Beautification Fund. This community holiday event raises funds for Roxbury beautification and other community projects, including the Roxbury Flower Fund. This winter celebration also features a Holiday Decoration Contest, with prizes for Best Traditional Decor, Best Over- The-Top Illumination, and Best in Show, with winners announced at the Dessert Reception at the Roxbury Arts Group on Soup & Sip Saturday. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the holiday decorations and join in the festivities at the Dessert Reception, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Roxbury Arts Group, but only ticket holders will be treated to homemade soups and tastings of New York State wines. Soup & Sip business participants include the Ate.O.Ate Food Truck, Chappie’s, Greater Roxbury Business Association, Hughson Benson Insurance, Kimchee Harvest Kitchen, Liberal Arts Roxbury, The Old Mill, Outsiders Kitchen, PDA Wood Work, Round Back Antiques, Roxbury Arts Group, Roxbury General, The Roxbury Motel, Roxbury Public Library, Roxbury Wine & Spirits, Table to Farm Tours, and Wayne Bank. Strollers can pick up a map of locations at Roxbury Wine & Spirits before starting the stroll.
