Roxbury — Small Works, an art exhibit of works that are all sized 12×12 or smaller will open in the Walt Meade Gallery at the Roxbury Arts Center just in time for the holiday shopping season. Artists will be present at an opening reception Saturday, November 17 from 4- 6 p.m.
While many shows are for exhibit only, the annual Small Works show allows patrons to purchase the work of local artists at prices that are all at or below $300. Those who purchase the works may take them from the exhibit the same day they buy them.
These are big gifts in small packages from more than 25 of the most talented artists in the region. They have worked tirelessly to support the Roxbury Arts Group and its programs during this past year.
Exhibiting artists include: Robert Axelrod, Jane Carr, Beth Caspar, Janice De Marino, Elaine Grandy, Roshan Houshmand, Megan Irving, Jen Jefferson, Nina Jordan, Liam Kaart, Matthias Kern, Polly Law, Helane Levine-Keating, James Litaker, Patrice Lorenz, Amy Masters, Gary Mayer, Elaine Mayes, Noah McLaurine, Martin Penrose, Robert Schneider, Richard Tazzara, Gerda van Leeuwen, Corneel Verlaan, Ros Welchman, Peter Yamaoka, and more.
