Delhi — The Delaware County Historical Association presents Stamford & its Hotels: Presentation & Chat at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16.
Another in a series of informative DCHA programs on local history, this will be an illustrated talk by local author, historian, and archivist of the Stamford Village Library history room, Karen Cuccinello.
Cuccinello’s talk will concern Stamford and the era of its hotels. During the late 19th century and early 20th century Stamford was known as the “Queen of the Catskills,” and was a nationally-renowned tourist mecca. Located on the Ulster & Delaware Railroad, Stamford’s population swelled during the summer months as urban visitors flocked to its hotels and other recreation amenities.
Admission to the program at 46549 State Hwy. 10, in Delhi, is free and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 607.746.3849, or email: email@example.com
