‘Night’ Opens At Longyear Gallery

MARGARETVILLE — Longyear Gallery of Margaretville is pleased to announce the opening of a special exhibit, “Night,” a new group show featuring the art of many Longyear Gallery members, accompanied by a group show of the art of the other Longyear members. Opening on Friday, March 22, this special exhibit will run through Sunday, April 21 with the Artists’ Reception on Saturday, March 23 from 3-6 p.m.
The art appearing in Longyear Gallery’s new exhibition “Night” focuses on night as a time of day, or a state of mind, peopled or solitary, celebratory or somber. The subject reflects a scale of directions from sinister to hopeful and the work exhibited covers the gamut of twilight to the first glimmer of light in the morning. Night and its various shades of darkness can be viewed as a place of gestation and of mystery as well as something unknown emerging or coming around the corner to haunt you. The various media used by Longyear Gallery members will be reflected in the works exhibited in “Night.”
